The Plumas National Forest is partnering with Plumas Corp, a non-profit environmental organization, on a project to restore land impacted by recent wildfires. T
he Tributaries Forest Recovery Project is in the initial stages of the planning process with a goal to restore and recover forest service lands damaged by the Dixie and the 2019 Walker Fires. The Project area would cover over 160,000 acres from Grizzly Ridge to Lake Davis and up to Antelope Lake, Taylor Lake and Lights Creek. No communities or .residential areas will fall within the project zones. Y
ou will have an opportunity to learn more about the project as the PNF and Plumas Corp will have a community meeting today and tomorrow in Taylorsville and Portola.
The Taylorsville community meeting will be held at the Taylorsville Historic Hall from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and the Portola community meeting will be at the Portola Public Library from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 27. You will have a chance to ask questions regarding the project and provide input on the scope and priorities.
