The numbers are in; under a tri-state max enforcement period over the Labor Day weekend, the CHP says the initiative saved more lives than last year.

The CHP reports a three-quarter decrease in the number of drivers killed on CA highways during the initiative that was conducted in conjunction with the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP), and the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).

Additional results yielded from the max enforcement says across the state, more arrests of impaired drivers and more citations issued as compared to last year.

The CHP says although there is still more work to be done, the department is committed to continuing to decrease the number of people injured or killed in car crashes.
