Tragic Collision Claims Life of Toddler, Injures Four Others

The collision occurred Just before midnight on Sunday, October 27, on Greenhorn Ranch Road near State Route 70. According to the Quincy CHP, 40-year-old Ingrid Burke was driving northbound in a 2003 Ford with four passengers, including three children aged 2, 3, and 9, and a 12-year-old. For unknown reasons Burke swerved unexpectedly onto the shoulder and struck a tree on the passenger side. CHP officers stated that she was traveling at the stated speed limit of 40 mph.

All occupants were injured in the collision, with injuries ranging from minor to severe. The 3-year-old passenger, who was not identified, suffered fatal injuries. CHP noted that at least one person in the vehicle was not properly restrained.

CHP officers confirmed that drugs or alcohol were not involved in the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
