Preliminary work has began on the Susanville 139 project along State Route 139 in Lassen County in late March. This work will include excavation and drainage improvement. This project is located just north of Chestnut Street to 2.6 miles south of Horse Lake Road.
Motorists should plan for traffic control Monday through Friday, from dawn to dusk, with up to 15-minute delays. 24-hour traffic control will be required during times when traffic is on an unpaved surface.
The purpose of this project is to restore the roadway to a state of good repair so that State Route 139 is in a condition that requires minimal maintenance. The project includes rehabilitating the roadway, replacing six curb ramps, upgrading guardrail, upgrading concrete barrier, widening shoulders in select locations, replacing/upgrading signage, a traffic signal and culverts.
This project includes 145 working days, all requiring traffic control.
