A 16-year-old boy was injured Wednesday afternoon in Westwood after being struck by a car that was driving recklessly near the intersection of Fir and Second Streets.
The incident happened around 1:00 p.m. on November 20, when a gray, four-door sedan entered the intersection and began doing “donuts.” While spinning out, the car hit the teen in the leg, knocking him to the ground.
The driver sped away without stopping to help or provide any information. The teen, who refused medical care, left the scene after his parents arrived.
The California Highway Patrol’s Chester Resident Post and Susanville Area office are investigating. Anyone with information about the incident or the driver is urged to contact the CHP Susanville office at (530) 252-1800.
