A motorcyclist dies after crashing and landing into a nearby ditch. 63-year-old Curtis Robinson from Ben Lomond, Oregon, was riding his motorcycle on Paul Bunyan when, as officers say, he allowed his motorcycle to leave the roadway just east of Chestnut Street, ejecting him off the bike and into the ditch. It is unknown the rate of speed he was traveling.

Reporting parties indicated another vehicle was involved in the collision, but investigating offers say there was no evidence that another vehicle struck Robinson, who was conscious when officers immediately responded to the call, arriving in under one minute from when it came in. Robinson was taken to Banner Lassen Medical Center Helipad and life-flighted to Renown Medical Center in Reno. Yet he succumbed to his injuries.

The Susanville police department is asking for any witnesses to the accident to call the Police Department at 530-257-5603.
