Affordable Housing returns to the board of Supervisors this week. The board will be presented with a possible funding source for the proposed project.

According to the Housing and Grants Division of Health and Social Services,  On March 29, the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) published a Round 3 Homekey Program Notice of Funding Availability. The Program is an opportunity for public entities to develop a broad range of housing types, including but not limited to the quick conversion of motels to permanent housing. To qualify, housing developed through the Homekey Program must be for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness who are inherently impacted by or at increased risk for medical diseases or conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic or other communicable diseases.

The discussion will be held Tuesday in the Supervisor’s Chambers on Nevada Street in Susanville, starting at 9 am.
