While the sun may have set on Plumas News, the online edition of Feather River Publishing’s newspaper, a new source is emerging for Plumas County – The Plumas Sun.
The inception of The Plumas Sun, says the new collective, “came about when a collective of local residents, business owners, and organizations united in early July” after the announcement that Plumas News would publish its final articles on July 31st.
Additionally, shortly after, Feather River Publishing decided to discontinue its Lassen News publication site. However, the tradition of nearly a century of publishing will be upheld, thanks to the efforts of long-standing journalist and Editor Sam Williams and his wife Cindy, who have stepped forward to keep the news source alive.
Feather River Publishing expressed its intent to “change course.” It will concentrate on print publications, including the Plumas County Visitors Guide and the monthly magazine High Country Life, while also continuing to cater to the community and local businesses, maintaining operation of the print shop. The publisher extends gratitude to their readers and staff for their loyalty and dedication throughout the past decades.
You can access The Plumas Sun at PlumasSun.org, while Lassen News will continue under the same name.
