Stolen Reno Vehcile Results in Drug and Firearm Bust in Portola

A stolen vehicle leads to a drug and illegal firearm bust in Portola. The stolen vehicle was found parked outside of the thief’s home on Grizzly Road. A responding deputy with the Plumas county sheriff’s office made contact with Christopher Cortina who lives at the home and arrested him for possession of the stolen vehicle as well as having several ounces of methamphetamine, cocaine, hundreds of Xanax and MDMA pills, anabolic steroids, LSD tabs, mushrooms, marijuana, scales, packaging, and cash that indicated his involvement in sale of the illegal narcotics. Investigators also located ghost guns and a loaded AR15 style rifle. Cortina has prior background for sales of controlled substances and is a convicted felon. Cortina sits in the Plumas county jail with a bail set for 500,000 dollars. The case will be sent to the district’s attorney office.
