Snow in September

A late season storm has brought snow to the surrounding mountains falling over Mt. Rose, Shasta, and Lassen Peak. Shasta saw as much as 4 inches fall while Lassen ad Mt. Rose got a healthy dusting. Temperatures with this storm have been 10 to 20 degrees cooler than average, yet are set to climb back up to seasonal norms by the end of the week, returning to daytime highs back in the 80s. Meteorologists are confident that the warmer and drier La Nina conditions will continue through November but weaken by December by 50%.
