January has been a very dry month, precipitation totals remain at zero . Yet despite that the US National Weather Service has said the snow depth and snow water content in the Sierra is still promising and still running above average for this time of year. That’s following an extremely wet October and December. In the Northern Sierra the snow water content is at 113% and Statewide 111%. Forecasted weather models are predicting in just over a week we could see a pattern change that could bring some precipitation back to the region.
