This marks a significant addition to its campus for early learners. The project, which began on June 5, 2024, was primarily funded by a $1.5 million Preschool, Transitional Kindergarten, and Full-Day Kindergarten Facilities (PKTKFDK) grant from the state, covering 90% of the costs.
The project launch was attended by Superintendent Principal Josh Blackburn and Shaffer Board of Education members, who celebrated the milestone. Blackburn highlighted King Consulting’s role in securing the funding, emphasizing the grant’s substantial contribution.
Led by Core Construction with design support from Eagle Architect, the project also includes a new septic system installation, further enhancing the school’s infrastructure. Shaffer Elementary looks forward to welcoming its youngest students into the modern, nurturing TK facility, set to become a foundational part of early education in the community.
