When visiting the Modoc National Forest you’ll start to see some strange orange diamonds along the trails.
The Forest Service has begun to mark trailheads and the path of the trail by marking trees with reflective brightly colored shapes to Provide you with a consistent and reliable trail corridor, that is easy to see and follow. Not only will it help you during the warmer months but the Modoc National Trails will also now be considered Nordic Trails during the winter season. Providing a safe and fun experience while cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing.
The diamonds began to go up in the Medicine Lake area last month.
