Monday lunch hour in Susanville will be a bit more crowded as Lassen High moves to a one-lunch period. Students are allowed off campus to grab a bite to eat, and teenage drivers fill the Main street heading to the local fast food joints, often creating long lines at the drive-thru and grocery stores. Lassen High PRincipal and Superintendant Morgan Nugent wants to remind the community of the change and impact of the midday hour and says the change has been made to reduce the staffing needed to supervise a split student lunch and allow more time for students in the classroom.
