Still, three years after the devastation caused by the Dixie Fire, the state offers another opportunity to help those affected rebuild their lives and homes. The California Department of Housing and Community Development has initiated the ReCoverCA Housing Programs, which aim to provide crucial funding for homeowners affected by the disaster.

Homeowners and landlords willing to assist low-to-moderate-income households may be eligible for substantial financial aid. The program offers up to $500,000 for repairing and reconstructing homes and grants of up to $50,000 for wildfire mitigation retrofits. These measures are designed to restore properties and enhance resilience against future disasters.

An upcoming event will be held in Greenville to reach out to the community and gather applications.  On April 11th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., if you are interested in learning more about the program, you can head to the Indian Valley CSD building at 127 Crescent Street in Greenville. There will be representatives to help you fill out and submit your program application.

The Dixie Fire Collaborative encourages everyone to seize this opportunity to rebuild and fortify their homes against future challenges.
