Plumas Board of Supervisors recognizes the service and retirement of Quincy’s Fire Chief, Robbie Cassou.
Board chairman Hagwood recited the recognition award at the June 20th Supervisors Meeting that commended the chief for his accomplishments, calling the Chief “a man described as a skilled teacher, mentor, leader, firefighter, command officer, artist and mechanic among other things. And he has a great sense of humor, you just don’t find all of those skills in any abundance within any single fire chief. He is definitely a superstar in the fire service and Quincy should be very proud.”
Cassous’s many other accolades as chief include founding a 48-hour firefighter training course, which provided valuable volunteers over the last 8 years to the community. Cassou also acquired many grants for the department that aided the many fire departments throughout the county.
Chief Cassou’s last day will be July 11th, completing more than 40 years with the Quincy Fire Department, the last 16 served as its chief.
