Prepare for Lunch Lines to Grow, LHS Moves to One Lunch Hour for All Students

Your lunch hour in Susanville will soon be filled with more high school students. Lassen High enjoys the benefits of off-campus lunch, benefiting the students and businesses they patronize.

Yet since COVID, the community has been fortunate to have two waves of students impact the lunch hour as the high school split lunch between grades to accommodate COVID restrictions. Now, Lassen High Principal and Superintendent Morgan Nugent is letting you know the line at the local fast food and grocery stores will get longer as the school returns to one lunch for the over 600+ students.

Nugent says this will help the school reduce the staffing needed to supervise both lunches and allow more time for students in the classroom. The return to a single lunch hour will begin once back from Thanksgiving break on December 1st.
