If you live in Portola, you have less than two months to pay your outstanding water bill before late fees and water shut-offs resume.
Overdue bill fees and shut-offs for non-payment were suspended in March of 2020 in response to the pandemic. Now time is running out to get caught up. You will have until April, when the city will resume its normal operations.
The city says those with bills 60 days past due must be paid to avoid your water being shut off. Though if you are unable to pay due to financial hardships, you will need to contact the city by March 15th to set up a payment plan. You may also be eligible for Federal assistance programs. You can visit cs.ca/gov to check if you qualify.
