Plan for Long Delays thru I-80 Corridor- Emergency Construction Repairs Continues

If traveling along the I-80 Sierra corridor this week, be prepared for significant delays due to ongoing construction and emergency repairs across Placer, Nevada, and Sierra counties. Caltrans advises drivers to plan for up to two-hour delays and adjust travel times accordingly. Here’s what to expect:

Eastbound I-80:
Monte Vista to Drum Forebay: There will be continuous lane closures from 6 a.m. Monday, August 5, through 10 a.m. Thursday, August 8.
– Yuba Pass to SR-20: Nightly lane closures will be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Thursday morning, August 8.
– Troy to Soda Springs: Lanes will be closed from 6 a.m. Monday, August 5, to 6 a.m. Thursday, August 8, with additional closures on Thursday and Friday nights.
– Central Truckee to SR-89/267: Ramp closures overnight from Monday through Wednesday morning.

Westbound I-80:
– SR-89 to Donner Lake: Lane and ramp closures will be in effect 24/7 from 8 p.m. Monday, August 5, through 10 a.m. Friday, August 9.
Donner Lake Interchange: Lanes will be closed from 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, through 5 p.m. Thursday, August 8.
– Soda Springs to Troy: Lane closures Tuesday, August 6, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
SR-20 to Yuba Gap: There will be nightly lane closures from 4 p.m. to 7 a.m. through Thursday morning, August 8.
Drum Forebay to Monte Vista: There will be nightly lane closures from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. through Friday morning, August 9.
