The Park Fire has seen no new perimeter growth over the last 24 hours.
Fire officials attribute this much-needed relief to favorable weather conditions, with increased humidity levels across the fire and a drop in temperatures from the triple-digit heat.
Mineral remains an area with a high concentration of resources as crews continue to identify hot spots and build lines. Incident command is confident that the work being done is successful. Hot spots also remain in the Child’s Meadow area, but IC says the fire is well within control lines. In the Mill Creek area hazardous trees and smoldering hot spots continue to pose a threat.
Over 5,600 personnel are working on the fire, boosting containment to 40%. The fire’s footprint is just under 430,000 acres burned.
