A February blaze leaves Pasquetti Ranch in Sierraville burned to the ground. Due to the intensity of the blaze multiple agencies responded including the US forest service and Loyalton FD. A total of 5 engines, 4 chiefs, 3 water tenders and 2 patrols to total 28 firefighters responded. With the initial help of locals the blaze did not damage any additional buildings. One local suffered from smoke exposure and a firefighter received minor burns due to the intensity of the flames. Fire crews worked through the night to mop up the fire and battled the freezing temperatures.
