The Snow has arrived throughout our region with more on the way, the winter storm warning returns as a winter storm advisory starting this afternoon at 1pm and lasting through Thursday morning at 10. Snow and winds have already began to pick back up out there. Gusts are reaching as high as 25 miles an hour. The heaviest snowfall is to begin around 3 pm though lasting through midnight. Up to five inches of new snow expected to the east of 395 and 6 to 15 inches expected to the west of 395 including Portola and Graeeagle. Both Fredonyer and the Yuba pass could see upwards of 20 inches of new snow. This will be quick storm but it will be mighty, lots of snowfall paired with those high winds.

You’re window to get prepared for prolonged winter cold weather and power outages will be this afternoon before the bulk of the storm hits. Then we can expect to see another break in the weather over the weekend starting Friday but snow does return by Monday. That will be a great time to get grocery shopping done, fuel vehicles and generators, and get caught back up with laundry following this multiple day power outage.
