7/19/23 Update:
A fire sparked in the Modoc National Forest, named the Sage Fire. Doubling in size by late afternoon yesterday. However, the forest service reports as of 7:30 pm the fire was contained at around 4 acres. Throughout the night, crews made sure all lines were held. The fire sparked just South of Big Sage Reservoir, outside of Alturas.
