Modoc National Forest joins the list of implementing fire restrictions on forest service lands. Now through November 30th, the county will restrict the use of open flame fires. You will no longer be able to maintain a fire outside of a designated area, smoking must also be done in an enclosed area on designated recreation sites or in a rest area with 3 feet of clearance, and no combustion engines except on forest system trails and roads. You can visit the Modoc National forest website for the full list of restrictions and exceptions.
