Medicine Lake is now fully accessible, with the official opening date set for Monday, June 30th. On this date, all campground services will be available. However, please note that the water systems at the campgrounds are currently non-potable, so it is crucial to boil water before use or to bring your own water.

A boat dock is currently operational, and the dump station is also available. Camping fees at the Medicine Lake Recreation Area are $15 per night, with the exception of Schonchin Spring Campground, which charges $10 per night. Dispersed campgrounds in the area include Blanche, Bullseye, and Payne Springs.

Campers are allowed to use the green firewood available in the campgrounds, though it is not seasoned, which may affect its burning quality. You may take home up to 1⁄4 cord of pine chunks stacked around the campground, but be cautious if you live near any pine species, as the Mountain Pine Bark Beetle has previously affected these trees. The IPS beetle may still be present and could infest your trees if the firewood is taken home. It is advisable to remove and burn the bark before transport and to avoid leaving it in the campground.
