Cobi Roshau has set the bar high again this holiday season for the Susanville Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Bell fundraiser, and he’s doing it with a bigger heart and bigger goal.
He wants to not only exceed his dollar amount raised this year but is encouraging more youth in the community to follow in his footsteps through volunteering to help others in need.
Last year, Cobi raised 1000 dollars by ringing the bell for the cause, and he’ll be back out kicking off this season on November 18th in Front of Walmart starting at 3:50 pm. He invites you to stop by, say hi, and donate if you are able.
The Cobi Challenge is quickly turning into a tradition, with what started just last year as a simple learning lesson from his mother about helping the less fortunate in this season of giving. Instead of simple listening, Cobi took to action and he hasn’t slowed down.
Through volunteering at the Susanville Salvation Army over the last year, he has helped Coordinator Carla McDonald distribute food boxes to those unable to leave their homes and hand out packets to others in need at the center.
Now, with a bigger goal, Cobi will join the many other volunteers this year to raise funds to help local families and your neighbors in need with clothing, food, and other necessities. Over 30,000 dollars stayed local last year through the bell-ringing. Efforts.
The first bells will ring on November 14th; volunteers are still needed. You can contact the volunteer coordinator to secure your spot by calling 257-0314.
