LNF Restores Forest Service Road Washed-Out from Storms

A washed-out road discovered over the summer has been repaired and is passable once more in the Lassen National Forest.

Forest Service crews continually monitor the forest service roads to ensure they travel safely, especially after significant weather. They discovered a washed-out road in July following the strong winter of 2021. That road was Forest road 29N07, along Baxter Creek, in the Eagle Lake Ranger District. A significant landslide off the hillside in the Dixie burn scar swept across the roadway and created a sizeable sunken gap.

As of this week, LNF Roads and Engineering Crews completed repairs and restored the road for safe travel.
