Live Fire Fuel Reduction in Adin Area of Western Modoc County

The Cal Fire Lassen-Modoc Unit in coordination with  CA Dept of Fish and Wildlife will be conduction a 100 acre pile burn project in Dutch Flat area.  The project area is in western Modoc County and will be visible from Highway 299.  The project will be ongoing throughout the winter months.

The burn will be initiated if/when condition are favorable for pile burning. Smoke will be visible throughout Round Valley, and Adin area. There is no need to report to 911.

The purpose of the project is to improve wildlife habitat, reduce noxious weeds, reduce the fuel loading from the 2017 Cove fire and to help reduce the possibility of a fire burning on to private and public lands.
