Increased temperatures have intensified smoke visibility within the Park Fire perimeter, prompting a smoke advisory for local communities. While the fire is now 100% contained, residents may notice smoke as pockets of unburned fuels within the fire zone continue to burn.
Fire crews are currently focused on suppression repair work across the incident area. Lassen National Forest officials urge residents and visitors to check local air quality conditions before traveling, as smoke tends to settle in valleys and low-lying areas overnight and in the early morning, generally lifting later in the day. For safety reasons, lands, roads, and trails within the Park Fire Closure Area remain temporarily closed. Visitors are advised to review Forest Order No. 06-24-07 and the closure map at fs.usda.gov/alerts/lassen/alerts-notices before planning any activities in the area.
