Visitors to Lassen Volcanic National Park should be prepared for parking closures and minor traffic delays in the Kings Creek area from Monday, October 21 through Wednesday, October 23. Crews will be working to remove hazard trees, resulting in the closure of the Kings Creek parking areas during this period.
Park officials warn that delays of up to 10 minutes can be expected along the main park road (Hwy 89) near Kings Creek. Hikers accessing trails near the Kings Creek trailhead may also experience brief waits to safely navigate the work zones.
Please note that contrary to earlier reports, the Kings Creek trailhead will remain open during the tree removal operation. However, hikers are advised to exercise caution and plan to park in alternative locations.
