The Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce points out that there’s a familiar buzz in the air as the area gears up for one of its most anticipated spring traditions: the Indian Valley yard sale weekend. This year’s event will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 17 and 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. This represents a slight shift from the Friday – Saturday schedule of previous years.
Organizers say residents across the valley will roll up their garage doors, unfold their tables and welcome bargain hunters from near and far. “The event is a simple but powerful celebration of community,” says the chamber. “Every sale helps keep the heartbeat of Indian Valley strong.”
Families, individuals and local organizations can sign up to host their own yard sales, and IVCC volunteers create a printed map guiding shoppers from Crescent Mills to Taylorsville, Greenville and everywhere in between. Maps of participating sale locations will be available digitally beginning May 15 on the IVCC’s Facebook page. Participants can also pick up physical maps at four central businesses: Crescent Country, The Taylorsville Store, Grizzly Bite Cafe and The Valley Grind.
In addition to drawing local shoppers, IVCC organizers say they hope to welcome visitors from neighboring towns like Quincy, Chester and Susanville. “The event offers a perfect excuse to enjoy a scenic drive, discover small-town gems and spend the day exploring a rural community filled with charm and character,” says the chamber. “Between stops, visitors can enjoy a cup of coffee or grab lunch and support one of the many small businesses in Indian Valley.”
