Firefighters continue working to gain control of the Loomis Fire burning in Lassen County near Dixie Valley.
According to the latest CAL FIRE update, the fire has grown to 656 acres and is currently 18% contained.
Dozers and hand crews have completed containment lines around portions of the fire perimeter, and firefighters continue making progress with mop-up operations and extinguishing areas of interior heat.
Crews are also working to strengthen containment lines around the fire to prevent further spread. Officials report current fire conditions remain favorable, with a low probability of ignition allowing firefighters to safely and effectively continue suppression efforts.
The Loomis Fire remains active in Lassen County, and the cause is still under investigation. Fire officials continue monitoring conditions as crews work toward full containment.
