Susanville Police Respond to a Gunshot Victim Incident, now the fourth act of gun violence in the city in recent weeks.
On Friday, September 1, just before 09:00 AM, Susanville Police Officers responded to the report that a person had been shot in the area near Prospect Avenue and Knoch Avenue. At arrival, officers were directed to a more precise location, where they, in collaboration with the Susanville Fire Department and SEMSA Paramedics, discovered a 23-year-old male victim inside a shed, suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper leg.
The injured man was promptly attended to by first responders and transported to a medical facility outside the immediate area for necessary treatment.
Preliminary investigations, including interviews conducted by officers and statements obtained from the victim, indicate that this incident appears to be an isolated occurrence, the department saying there is no immediate danger to the general public. Nevertheless, additional witnesses are yet to be contacted and interviewed as part of the ongoing investigation. The case will be handed over to the Detective Division for further examination and follow-up.
Authorities are urging anyone who may possess information related to this incident to come forward and contact the Susanville Police Department’s Detective Richard Warner at (530) 257-5603.
