You’ve likely seen the crews at work; the Old Channel Lining project spearheaded by the Honeylake Valley RCD is underway.

Funded by 4 million dollars in grant monies from the DWR, under a drought relief program, the project aims to line the length of the ditch from The Susan River behind the Superior Courthouse across Main Street over to Johnstonville Rd.

Work will also include the construction of a maintenance road that will serve as a recreational pedestrian walkway. The total length spans over 2400 feet.

The grant also provides funding for installing oil-water separators to help improve water quality for downstream users, including ranchers, according to specifications of the project outlined on the Honey Lake RCD website.
