Honey Lake Power completes 300,000 dollar upgrade to equipment during their fall maintenance. Each year in spring and fall the plant shut down for up to two weeks to complete maintenance work. It happens that the equipment that failed during the Dixie fire causing rolling blackouts for the Lassen Municipal Utility District was scheduled to be replaced during this fall’s maintenance work. The power plant replaced that fan that caused the outages and Honey lake power is also anticipating a major overhaul on a turbine and generator come spring, that the plant says happens every 17 years, further solidifying reliability of the aging plant. L M U D is also expecting to island with honey Lake Power starting tomorrow through next Tuesday the 7th as PG&E completes repairs on their Caribou transmission line.
