Today, October 7, crews will begin removing hazardous trees in the Kings Creek area of Lassen National Park. Park officials have advised visitors to expect road delays of up to 10 minutes along Highway 89, the main park road that runs through the Kings Creek region.
In addition to road delays, nearby trailheads may experience temporary closures as needed for public safety during the tree removal process. Visitors planning to hike or explore the area are encouraged to review the park map to check for any trail impacts during their visit. The map can be accessed online at nps.gov.
“We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding as we work to remove these trees and maintain the safety of the park,” said park officials in a statement.
For more information, including potential impacts on your visit, you can contact the park directly.
