CalFire Lassen Modoc Unit will be working on the Hamilton Branch community fuel break on Tuesday and Wednesday 5/20-5/21 this week. CalFire Lassen Modoc Unit with Sierra Pacific Industries, Peninsula Fire Department and Hamilton Branch Fire Department will be conduction a timber understory burn within an ongoing fuel break project located near the community of Hamilton Branch. This ongoing project may continue throughout the month of May and early June when conditions are favorable or low intensity timber understory burn. Smoke will be visible and there will be not need to report.
The purpose of the project is to reduce the possibility of a fire burnig into the residential areas of Hamilton ‘Branch, Penisula and Bailey Creek, as well as strengthen necessary evacuation routes.
