Following a major rock slide earlier this month, the road remains closed, with no clear timeline for reopening, even for one-way traffic. In a bid to safely restore access, Caltrans plans to engage a geotechnical contractor to evaluate the rock face along the highway, determining necessary stabilization measures for the future.
