After three years of resilience and rebuilding, Greenville celebrates the reopening of its post office, a pivotal step in its recovery.

The Post Office is set to reopen on August 12, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the town’s recovery from the devastating Dixie Fire that occurred on August 4, 2021. The fire, one of the largest in California’s history, left much of Greenville in ruins, including essential services like the post office. The reopening of the post office at 405 Main St. is not just about resuming mail services but also symbolizes the resilience and revitalization of the Greenville community.

Retail and mail delivery services will resume, with the post office also serving as a temporary pick-up location for Canyon Dam customers. Greenville PO Box customers must present photo ID to collect their new PO Box keys, while Canyon Dam customers must do the same for mail pick-up.

District Manager Raj Sanghera expressed pride in reestablishing postal services in Greenville, emphasizing the importance of providing consistent and reliable service to the community. The post office will be open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering a critical connection for residents as they continue to rebuild and move forward.

This reopening is a beacon of hope and progress for Greenville, reflecting the community’s determination to restore normalcy and preserve its identity in the aftermath of tragedy.
