On Wednesday afternoon, a fire broke out in an outbuilding on the 300 block of Park Street, fully engulfing the structure. The Susanville Fire Department responded promptly at around 2 p.m., containing the blaze before it could spread to nearby homes.
An investigation revealed that the fire was accidental, likely caused by faulty electrical wiring. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Susanville Fire received assistance from the Susanville Police Department, Public Works, CalFire, Susan River Fire Protection District, and the Office of Emergency Services.
