Fatal Collision Near Bogard Rest Area- CHP Seeking Witnesses

Two vehicles collided head-on resulting in the death of a Utah woman as temperatures dropped and rain turned to snow on the roadways outside of Susanville the evening of December 27th.

The Susanville CHP says just after 5 pm, a Napa woman, 66-year-old Debbie Guaspari-Larosa, was driving her Ford pickup east on SR 44. A Buick, carrying three passengers from Provo, Utah, was traveling West on the highway when for unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided head-on just past the Bogard rest area. The force resulted in fatal injuries to the driver, who was not wearing her seatbelt; her identity has not been released pending family notification.

The driver of the pickup and surviving passengers of the Buick were transported to Banner-Lassen hospital in Susanville.
