Emergency repairs to the I-80 corridor get a Later Start this Week Due to the Memorial Day Weekend

Caltrans is reminding you of the upcoming lane and ramp closures on Interstate 80 (I-80) in Placer, Nevada, and Sierra counties as work continues impacting travel along the route.

Westbound I-80 will have continuous lane closures between Floriston and Hinton Road beginning this evening at nine and continuing through Friday morning.

There will also be lane closures between State Route 89 and Donner Pass Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, and Thursday,, and between Rainbow and Cisco Grove from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on those same days.

Additional closures will occur between Emigrant Gap and Nyack from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 31.

No work is scheduled for other areas westbound. The roadwork will not impact weekend travel.

Eastbound I-80 will see no work in Location 1. However, between Drum Forebay and Blue Canyon, lane closures will occur from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. from Wednesday to Saturday, June 1.

Between Blue Canyon and Emigrant Gap, there will be closures from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and Thursday,, with additional work from 3 a.m. to noon on Friday.

Lane closures will also be in effect between Big Bend and Rainbow from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and Thursday,, and between Kingvale and Soda Springs, and Donner Lake Interchange and State Route 89, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on those same days. No work is scheduled for other areas eastbound.

Additionally, I-80 between Troy and Soda Springs will have various lane closures from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. from Tuesday, May 28, through Thursday, May 30, due to the Soda Springs Pavement Rehabilitation Project. Work will conclude at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 31.

You should expect delays and plan for extra travel time along the I-80 corridor through this week.
