An all-call to not be alarmed by smoke seen off HWY 39 has been issued by CalFIRE’s Lassen Modoc unit. In response to community concern about the fire in Hidden Valley, the department says there is no threat. The fire is part of a controlled fuel reduction project on the Hidde Valley Ranch. 95 acres have been completed in the burn that began yesterday. You may continue to see smoke over the next several days as the project is expected to continue into next week.
If driving through the area, be aware of reduced visibility as smoke drifts over the highway.
