CPUD Board Meets to Discuss Tax Advisory Committee

Chester’s public utility district may consider a second attempt at a tax measure to save the fire department. But even if passed, funds won’t be realized immediately.

General Manager Adam Cox addressed this issue during the board’s highly attended November meeting when the board considered restructuring the fire department to a volunteer-run one and phasing out its firefighters.

During this afternoon’s 3 pm meeting, Item 11 is slated for the board to consider the creation of a tax measure advisory committee for a special election to be held on May 7th.

The board will also discuss the Seneca Healthcare hospital ambulance billing agreement—another topic of contention.

The board meets in the district building on Chester Airport Road.
