Susanville’s city council will not meet until next month.
The council has elected to cancel this week’s regular meeting on Wednesday to allow two council members, the City Manager and the economic development director, to attend the city leader summit in Sacramento. The summit is an opportunity for city leaders from across the state to shape policy decisions in the Capitol and enhance their leadership skills. Through meetings with legislators, advocacy for city priorities, and participation in discussions and sessions, officials can gain insights into leadership and address emerging issues affecting cities.
City Manager Dan Newton stressed that if the council held a meeting this week, it would be challenging to conduct because the new council was sat just weeks ago, and both veteran council members will be absent.
It was agreed at the council’s March 20th meeting to cancel altogether.
The council will resume and convene Wednesday, May first.
