Susanville CHP has released the identity of the 29-year-old motorcyclist that died in the early morning hours of last Thursday after his bike left the roadway as Richard Martin Penn of Susanville. The incident occurred around 1 am just north of Byers Pass Rd., where for unknown reasons Penn was unable to complete a left-hand curve and left the roadway separating him from his bike. A passerby happened upon the scene and notified CHP.
