On Wednesday, September 20th, 2023, at around 3:40 PM, 45-year-old Michael Jacobs of Chester was driving his 2005 Chevrolet pickup on Warner Valley Road, east of High Bridge, at an undetermined speed. In the bed of the Chevrolet, there was a 14-year-old girl seated without any safety equipment.

Due to Jacobs’ suspected alcohol intoxication, he lost control of the vehicle, causing the Chevrolet to veer off the roadway to the south. As a result of this incident, the young teen was ejected from the rear of the Chevrolet and landed on the roadway.

Emergency services promptly flew the juvenile to Enloe Medical Center due to suspected major injuries, and she was later transferred to UC Davis Medical Center for further treatment. Jacobs did not sustain any injuries but was arrested for driving under the influence.

This case remains under investigation.
