Antlers Inn of Chester has installed four electric vehicle charging stations through a grant program administered by Pacific Gas and Electric Company. The four EV stations are part of the AmpUP Network, a national charging station program.

Owner Mark Lilley sees the new EV charging stations as part of the effort to move forward and enhance tourism in the Lake Almanor area. “With Chester’s new hospital and the exciting growth of local businesses, we want to contribute to the momentum. California is home to a growing number of EV owners, which account for 25% of all new vehicle registrations in the state. The demand for EV charging stations has been steadily increasing. Portola installed four stations last December, and the county board of supervisors approved installation of two stations at Dame Shirley Plaza this summer.
