After more than three years without a local post office, the community of Canyon Dam will finally see the return of regular retail and delivery services. Starting Monday, September 9, 2024, residents can once again access postal services at 29586 State Highway 89, Canyon Dam, CA 95923.
For residents with PO Boxes, a photo ID will be required to pick up new keys at the reopened location. Retail services will be available Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
“We are proud to welcome the Canyon Dam community back to their Post Office and reestablish postal services in town. We look forward to providing consistent, convenient, and reliable service in this community,” said Acting Postmaster Christopher Norton.
The reopening marks a significant milestone for Canyon Dam, which has been without a post office since the Dixie Fire devastated the area in 2021. The return of postal services is another step forward in the community’s ongoing recovery and revitalization efforts.
