Caltrans increases traffic controls at A13-SR36 safety project.
Beginning next week through Thursday, you will encounter 24/7 traffic controls at the project location near Chester, just east of Bailey Creek Bridge and East of A-13. Thee delays can be up to 20 minutes long. You are asked to plan accordingly. Speed lmits are reduced in the area with additional safety signage.
The project is bringing a roundabout to the highway. This work includes tearing up the old road, digging and shaping the ground, putting down new asphalt for the roundabout and its entrances, and adding concrete curbs. They will also move a utility pole, paint new road lines, add plants, install lights at the entrances, and put up new signs. Completion is expected by September.
